We have some exciting news to share. Powder® has just taken a huge step forward in our journey: we’ve secured a piece of land in the Mentawai Islands, right next to one of the world’s most iconic waves—Hollow Trees, also known as Lance’s Right. The plot sits just behind the front line of the beach, and it will soon become the home of our very first Powder Residence.
What exactly is Powder Residence? It’s our vision of creating a place where both our sponsors and our customers can experience the essence of Powder in one of the most sought-after surf destinations on the planet. Imagine waking up just a few steps away from perfect barrels, sharing waves with friends, and connecting with the raw energy of the ocean. This residence will be more than a place to stay—it will be a hub for riders, explorers, and adventurers.
At this stage, we’ve already made the initial deposit for the land, and now the process sits in the hands of our lawyer and the notary. The final payment will be made once the previous landowner secures all the necessary permits—registration of the property, the building license, and everything required for us to move forward. Once those approvals are in place, we’ll be free to begin construction and bring the Powder Residence to life.
This is just the beginning. Our goal is to create a space where we can welcome our sponsors, reward our community with giveaways, and invite our clients to join us in one of the most unique surf paradises on earth. As you know, our brand has always been about staying true to our roots. Our motto says it best: bringing riders to their dream terrain. And now, we’re making that a reality in Mentawai.
