The Eternal Search

Powder Bags embarks on The Search for the Perfect Wave, a 30-day expedition from Moaratai to the Doi Islands in Indonesia. Four creators — Tomas Massa, Martin Veckmans, Ludovic Thibault, and Marius Brosset — travel on a fisherman’s boat in search of untouched waves, authentic moments, and cultural encounters. The adventure will be documented in photos, reels, and a full documentary premiering February 2026. Follow this journey of surf, exploration, and discovery.

The Eternal Search

Tomorrow, we set sail.

Four friends, four cameras, and one shared obsession: the search for something untouched. Something wild. Something real. Powder Bags is heading to Indonesia, and this time, the road ahead isn’t a road at all — it’s open water.

This expedition, The Search for the Perfect Wave, brings together a team of adventure-driven creators from France and Belgium. What unites us isn’t just surf or travel — it’s the urge to capture truth. Wherever we go, cameras rest in our hands like an extension of ourselves. We chase stories the way others chase comfort: instinctively, relentlessly.

Joining the journey:

  • Tomas Massa — filmmaker and YouTuber, always hunting the perfect frame.

  • Martin Veckmans — filmmaker, whose intuition for storytelling runs deeper than any script.

  • Ludovic Thibault — photographer, patient and precise, with an eye for raw, unfiltered emotion.

  • Marius Brosset — filmmaker, photographer & professional kite surfer, constantly balancing stillness and motion.

Together, we’re boarding a fisherman’s boat and traveling from Moaratai to the Doi Islands — a stretch of sea lined with remote islets, unpredictable swells, and a level of solitude you can’t buy or plan.
The mission is unusual: buy a fisherman’s boat, live on it for 30 days, and navigate the wilderness in search of a wave that has—possibly—never been surfed.

No resorts.
No comfort.
No pre-made itineraries.

Just the ocean, the culture, and the unknown.

We want to avoid the obvious. Skip the tourist paths. Dive deep into Indonesia’s spirit. Learn from the communities we meet, respect their rhythm of life, and carry their values with us. We want moments that are real, spontaneous, unpolished — moments that remind us why adventure matters.

And through all of it, Powder Bags will be with us — keeping our equipment dry when storms hit, keeping our essentials safe when we get dragged by swell, salt, and whatever else awaits. Our bags weren’t designed for convenience — they were built for this.

Throughout the journey, we’ll be sharing everything:
raw photos, cinematic reels, behind-the-scenes chaos, and the beauty of discovering a world untouched.

And then, in February 2026, the full documentary will drop on Thomas Massa’s YouTube channel, followed by several premiere events in theatres across France and Belgium.
We’re not just filming a surf trip.
We’re telling a story about searching — and what you find when the search takes you somewhere no one expected.

The ocean is calling.
Tomorrow, we answer.

Stay tuned.
Stay wild.
Stay ready.
